Abstract

Windfield analysis consists in retrieving the 3D wind vectors on a space grid using the observations (i.e. the measured radial velocities) provided by a conically scanned airborne Doppler lidar. The purpose of this presentation is to show that analysis techniques currently used by meteorologists can be a powerfull solution to this problem capable of extracting more information from the observed data than the usual VAD.
