Abstract
A PC-based data acquisition, analysis, and display system has been developed for use with continuous wave (cw) lidar at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). The data system was designed around a 386SX computer with lidar data collection and spectrum estimation occurring via a high speed transient capture peripheral board slaved to a digital signal processor (DSP) peripheral board. This system was developed for use during the second survey mission of NASA’s GLObal Backscatter Experiment1 (GLOBE II). MSFC supported two separate CO2 cw lidars2 for the experiment, one operating at 10.6μm and the other at 9.11μm.
