Spectroscopy and Mode-locked Laser Operation of a Disordered Yb:Gd2SrAl2O7 Crystal

Abstract

We report on spectroscopy and mode-locked laser operation of a disordered aluminate crystal, Yb:Gd2SrAl2O7. 34-fs soliton pulses are generated at 1084.6 nm via soft-aperture Kerr-lens mode-locking with an average output power of 115 mW.
