Silicon Optical Phased Array with 180-degree Field of View for Solid-State 2D Beam Steering

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrated a silicon optical phased array based on a slab grating and waveguide array with a half-wavelength pitch. 2D beam steering with 180° field of view and low side lobe level (<-19 dB within ±40°) has been achieved.
