Optical signal generation and amplification in the spectral region from 1600 to 1800 nm based on bismuth-doped fiber

Abstract

We present a tunable, continuous-wave fiber laser with a tuning range of 187 nm (1617-1804 nm) and an fiber amplifier with an output power of more than 200 mW, both based on bismuth-doped germanosilicate fiber.
