Generation of high-power, high-coherence millimeter-wave using microresonator solitons

Abstract

100 GHz millimeter-waves are generated by photodetecting microresonator solitons. It provides 6 dB enhancement in output power and two orders of magnitude linewidth reduction when compared to mmWave generation method of two laser hetero- dyne detection.
