Sub-100 fs pulse generation from a Tm,Ho:CALYO laser mode-locked by a GaSb-based SESAM at ~2043 nm

Abstract

We report on the first sub-100-fs mode-locked Ho3+-laser in the 2-µm spectral range. The disordered co-doped Tm,Ho:CaYAlO4 (Tm,Ho:CALYO) crystal produced pulses as short as 87 fs with 27-mW average output power at 80.45-MHz repetition rate.
