Abstract

A novel high-efficiency 36–50GHz millimeter-wave down-conversion system utilizing an optoelectronic oscillator based on stimulated brillouin scattering is demonstrated. 35–49GHz signals are down-converted to 1GHz IF with −35.72dB conversion-efficiency and without optical or electronic amplifiers.
