High-Fidelity 165-fs 5-μJ Pulses from an Integrated Ytterbium Fiber System

Abstract

Energy scaling of μJ fs pulses from monolithic YDFAs is limited by pulse pedestal formation. We demonstrate a chirped-pulse fiber-amplifier that uses a newly developed dispersion compensating fiber stretcher matching the dispersion of a grating pair.
