Abstract

A novel ultrafast, compact (1.5 μm2) sub-fJ/bit electro-optical modulator based on an organic plasmonic Bragg waveguide is proposed. Simulations show extinction ratios of 10 dB with insertion losses of 2.6 dB for a peak voltage of 1.4 V.
