Faraday-Ramsey rotation measurement in a thin cell as analogy to atomic beam

Abstract

By confining Rubidium atoms in a micron scale vapor cell and illuminating them with two laterally displaced beams we mimic the behavior of an atomic beam and observe the Faraday-Ramsey effect at the micron scale.
