Polarization-Induced Topological Edge and Corner States in Chern Photonic Crystals

Abstract

Polarization is not a well-defined quantity in Chern insulators. Using gyromagnetic photonic crystals, we show that a notion of relative-polarization can be well-defined in Chern insulators leading to topological edge and corner states.
