Abstract
Ultrafast fiber lasers have been widely exploited in the field of optical communication, high-harmonic generation, nonlinear microscopy, nanofabrication, and industrial processing [1]. To demonstrate ultrafast fiber lasers, passive mode-locking technique with saturable absorbers (SAs) are commonly used due to high peak power of generated pulse, high beam quality, and efficient heat dissipation. The key elements for high-performance SAs are ultrafast carrier dynamics, large optical0020nonlinearity, and broadband operating wavelengths of SAs.
