Abstract

The advent of lithium niobate on-insulator (LNOI) films has paved the way for new compact electro-optic (EO) modulators or sensors, allowing bandwidths beyond 100 GHz with low driving voltage [1]. By locally enhancing the electro-optical (EO) interaction through slow light effects, photonic crystals enable a further step toward miniaturization [2,3].
