Abstract

Stimulated Raman scattering presents one of important trends in nonlinear optics enabling to generate Stokes-shifted radiation at frequencies that are not readily available from solid state lasers. This method is suitable also because the phase matching fulfilment isn’t required. To get stable and efficient Raman generation of picosecond and even femtosecond ultra-short Stokes pulses, the method of synchronous pumping of the extra-cavity and intracavity crystalline Raman lasers by the train of ultra-short laser pulses is widely used [1]. In this configuration a pulse shortening of the Raman radiation especially at multiple Stokes components generation can be achieved to the width determined by inverse value of spontaneous Raman spectrum line-width.
