Abstract

The double fluoride YLF:Er3+ crystals are well known as active laser media for laser operation in a wide spectral range from 0.467 to 2.9 μm under upconversion selective and laser diode pumpings. 3-μm solid-state CW lasers are of a great interest for numerous practical applications. The slope efficiency up to 50% was demonstrated at 2.8 μm in YLF:Er3+ 1 under pumping at 973 nm, and output power 1.1 W was achieved in2 under LD pumping.
