Ultrafast Fiber CPA Systems

Abstract

We report on high-gain diode pumped Ytterbium-doped fiber chirped pulse amplification (CPA) system delivering pulse energies in the 100 μJ to 1mJ range at high repetition rates (>10 kHz) with nearly diffraction limited beam quality at a 1060 nm center wavelength. Power scaling up to several mJ pulse energy, beam quality and limitations due to nonlinear effects using large-mode-area fibers will be discussed.
