Abstract

Recently, there has been increasing interest in chalcogenide glasses (ChG) due to their possible applications in optical telecommunications For example, ChG have been used to make Bragg gratings and optical switching devices [1][2], In this paper, we report the first demonstration to our knowledge of the creation of a large second-order nonlinear susceptibility χ(2) in As2S3 chalcogenide glasses
