Abstract

We have investigated lasing properties of a dye cored dendrimer in poly methylmethacrylate(PMMA) waveguides and we observed single-narrow-line laser emission without resonator mirrors.[1] The narrow-line arises from multiple scattering by dendrimers in the PMMA waveguide. Introducing such weak scattering in waveguide gain media is in contrast to the previous studies on lasing in strong scattering media.[2] We have further studied relations between lasing and scattering properties in the dendrimer doped waveguide.
