Abstract

Recently a great interest has been given to the propagation of self-guided beams or spatial solitary waves in quadratic media [1-2]. Here we consider stationary fields propagation in a planar waveguide with quadratic nonlinearity in the configuration of second-harmonic amplification (Type I interaction (eoo)). A numerical study of the propagation of intense beams in a quadratic non-linear material is presented, when a second harmonic amplification process occurs.
