Abstract

The potential of many application in laser medicine has inspired extensive studies in recent years related to development of 3 pm solid state lasers, based on Er3+-doped crystals (YAG, YSGG, YLF, YAlO3, CaF2) and Ho-doped crystals. New Cr,Yb,Ho: YSGG crystal is very suitable active medium for solid-state laser, it combines a high lasing efficiency with high gain coefficient, and it makes possible to tune continuously the output radiation wavelength in the range 2.84 - 3.05 µm. The Er3+ and Ho3+ crystal have the essential different of upper laser level population mechanisms.
