Second harmonic generation in periodically poled KTP pumped by a single longitudinal mode laser

Abstract

Recently published second harmonic generation (SHG) conversion experiments with a periodically poled (PP) KTP crystal pumped by a multi-longitudinal mode (MLM) Q-switched laser show an efficiency curve which saturates at 65% [1]. This behavior does not fit the theoretical conversion model [2].
