Abstract

Kerr-lens mode-locking (KLM) of solid state lasers is a very powerful method to generate ultrashort light pulses. Pulses as short as 8.5 fs have been obtained directly from a Kerr-lens mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser [1]. In this contribution we report on a self-starting KLM end-pumped Nd:YAG laser.
