Abstract
Microchip intracavity frequency doubled lasers are the way to make solid state lasers stable, compact and cheap. In our experiments the chip set was formed by a 1 mm long Nd:LaSc3(BO3)4 (Nd:LSB) crystal in optical contact with a 1 mm long KTP crystal. Nd:LSB is an efficient laser material for intracavity doubled solid state lasers due to perfect crystal quality, broad absorption pump band and short absorption depth [1]. Under the longitudinally pumping arrangement the planar uniformity of the cavity is broken by the pump beam inducing thermal lens which stabilises the resonator.
