Abstract

Over the last decade, there has been several demonstrations of applications of quantum optics for optical communication. Examples include low noise ”squeezed” light, low noise amplification and detection, and secure communications - quantum cryptography using Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle as the garantuee for the detection of unwanted eavesdroppers.
