Abstract

Full duplex transceivers, which transmit and receive optical signals at different wavelengths/frequencies, are key components within todays and future high capacity bidirectional optical communication systems (e.g. local acces networks, computer data links, measurement and control systems). For those commercial applications they have to meet several specifications and requirements, for example fabrication at low cost, high temperature stability, very low electrical and optical near-end crosstalk levels, low power consumption, high compactness and robustness, and good reliability.
