Abstract

In context with the development of silica based, Nd-doped double-clad fibers for the application in high-power fiber lasers [1] we have investigated the spectral behaviour of the emission in the three wavelength regions around 880 nm, 1064nm and 1300 nm in the nonresonant and resonant case, respectively. For these experiments we used fibers with a high NA of the outer core (0.38), a singlemode, Nd-doped core (Nd concentration approx. 1300 ppm) and a diameter of the second core of 100 to 130 μm.
