Abstract
To evaluate the potential hazard of retinal damaging we studied in vitro and in vivo (on rabbit eyes) wet field thermal effects of pulsed Ho:YAG endolaser equipped by quartz fiberoptic 400 mm in diameter. Pulse duration was 1 ms, repetition rate 3 Hz. Used energy levels were between 5 and 300 mj per pulse. The thermocouple tip was placed on different distances from endolaser tip, and temperature was measured on various power rates and time intervals. Using multiple regression analysis, the model of fluid temperature rise dependence from energy per pulse, number of pulses and distance from endolaser tip was constructed.
