Tunable visible ultrashort pulses by parametric generation and amplification

Abstract

Tunable high-power femtosecond pulses over the entire visible and infrared spectrum are very interesting for time-resolved spectroscopy. To achieve this high tunability, we have developed a femtosecond optical parametric amplifier (OPA)1–3 based on the highly nonlinear BBO crystal.
