Intra-Cavity Frequency-Doubled VECSEL for Narrow Linewidth Rydberg EIT Spectroscopy

Abstract

We characterize a VECSEL with intra-cavity frequency conversion and use it to demonstrate 3.5 MHz FWHM Rydberg spectroscopy. The laser emits 690 mW at λ = 475 nm and we measure a pre-doubled linewidth of 2π × 23(2) kHz.
