Purcell-enhanced X-ray Imaging in Ultra-thin Scintillators

Abstract

We demonstrate improved X-ray imaging using nanophotonic scintillators. Our scintillators rely on Purcell enhancement for brighter and faster emission. Applying this concept in radiology and nuclear medicine could enable a significant reduction of X-ray dose.
