Abstract
Stronger regulatory emission requirements of the recent years have led to a wave of hybridization in the automotive sector, aiming to reduce harmful emissions by load balancing the internal combustion engine during real driving scenarios. In this work we present a robust multi-species measurement system, capable of quantitatively measuring selected gas species behind the exhaust turbo with high temporal resolution, thus able to identify critical operation points for the hybrid drive train. The application of the TDLAS (tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy) based sensor head will be shown and subsequently discussed regarding the performance and robustness of the system.
