Frequency Domain Aperture for Ultra-High Resolution Brillouin Based Spectroscopy

Abstract

The inhomogeneous saturation behavior in stimulated Brillouin scattering is exploited for increasing the resolution in Brillouin spectrometers. Based on a proof of concept experiment we report an optical resolution of 8MHz.
