Strongly confined hybrid plasmonic modes guided by nanowire-embedded-metal grooves for low-loss propagation

Abstract

An easy-to-fabricate hybrid plasmonic waveguide consisting of a semiconductor nanowire embedded inside a dielectric-coated V-shaped metal groove is shown to support strongly confined hybrid plasmonic modes avoiding alignment errors.
