Low-power All-optical Diode in Asymmetric Nanocomposite Photonic Crystal Microcavities

Abstract

All-optical diode is realized in asymmetric nanocomposite photonic crystal microcavity by combining strong plasmonic responses of gold nanoparticles and all-optical tunability of microcavity. The threshold photon energy as low as 1.89 pJ is achieved.
