Abstract
For certain applications of CO2 lasers to inertial confinement fusion experiments, the availability of subnanosecond laser pulses is of importance. In this paper we describe a method of reliably generating 325-psec CO2 laser pulses using an extension of earlier work by Smith and Davis.1 This system is currently being installed in the LASL single beam prototype laser.
