Abstract

A new type of spatio-temporal multiplexing multi-view three-dimensional (3D) display with the horizontal motion parallel has been developed. The proposed 3D display system comprises of a fast liquid-crystal-display (LCD) screen, a lenti-cular lens and a beam steering screen. It implements the temporal multiplexing technique on the basic spatial multiplexing multi-view displays and multiple viewing zones can be provided horizontally in space. A complete prototype adopting this technique has been developed for the proof of concept and it has been verified by experimental results.
