Abstract

A novel optical fiber temperature sensor with single sagnac loop based on vernier effect has been proposed. The sensitivity of the sensor enhances obviously based on vernier effect . The experimental temperature sensitivity is -2.147 nm/℃which is 13.17 times higher than that of the single sagnac sensor without vernier effect. This sensor has a simple structure and can be applied widely.
