Laser-induced photochemical reactions of carbonyl compounds: nonadiabatic pathways

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Unimolecular photodissociation and photoisomerization are two types of important photochemical reactions of excited states and have always been fascinating subjects to study. With step-scan Time-Resolved Fourier Transform Infrared (TR-FTIR) absorption spectroscopy, we have studied the laser-induced photochemical reactions of a series of carbonyl compounds and revealed the reaction mechanisms involving nonadiabatic pathways.
