Abstract

A stimulated Brillouin scattering sensor system with a reflector at the end of the test fiber is proposed and analyzed. The merits for BOTDR and BOTDA are combined in the proposed configuration. A reflector for the pump and prove lights are used at the end of the test fiber. A signal processing method to increase the performance is introduced.
