Abstract

Because of high efficiency, compactness and stable operation, laser-diode-pumped Nd:YAG (LDP-YAG) laser has become very popular in various applications.

We have been developing and designing LDP-YAG lasers using simulation techniques such as a ray tracing, a thermal analysis, and so on.

In this paper several kinds of LDP-YAG lasers developed in Toshiba are described. We developed a high output power laser with 7 kW output power at more than 20% efficiency, commercial SHG laser marker system for chip scale packages (CSP), and a laser for a spacebome LED AR.
