A study of noise reduction in distributed fiber Raman amplification

Abstract

Noise reduction in distributed fiber Raman amplification using a low Raman gain fiber and a high Raman gain fiber has been studied. We have demonstrated more than 3dB noise reduction and its effectiveness through 10Gbit/s transmission experiments.
