Abstract

Interaction of P-polarized femtosecond laser pulses at 8×1015 W/cm2 with metallic and dielectric targets are studied. Smaller laser absorption and fewer emitted electrons and lower hot electron temperature in dielectric target than that in metallic targets are found.
