Abstract

Optical techniques for voltage and field measurement have intrinsic advantages over electronic techniques in terms of isolation of electronic instrumentations, large bandwidth, and immunity to electromagnetic interference. Especially, due to their compactness and freedom from alignments, integrated optical guided-wave devices may be utilized as a voltage sensor. In this paper, a review of integrated optical voltage sensors are presented.
