Abstract

Several groups have conducted research activities on a frequency shifted feedback laser (FSFL).1-3 An FSFL has an acousto optic modulator (AOM) inside a laser cavity for a frequency shifter. The most outstanding feature of this laser is that it oscillates with a quasi-continuous spectrum, however, its operating dynamics has not yet been fully clarified.4 We described the first laser diode pumped FSFL using Nd:YVO4 here with its oscillation characteristics.
