Abstract
The advances of solid state lasers have moved by leaps and bounces in the past three decades due to periodic breakthroughs in either the laser material development or the laser system engineering. The progress has greatly accelerated in the past decade due to: the availability of high power laser diodes, the discovery of RT tunable solid state lasers, the advances in nonlinear materials and engineering, the improvement of optical coating and the laser cavity design.
