Determination of the chromatic dispersion and birefringence of photonic crystal fibers using an OLCR technique

Abstract

Direct measurement of chromatic dispersion and birefringence of a photonic crystal fiber is achieved using a phase-sensitive Optical Low-Coherence Reflectometer. The measurements of a short length fiber are in good agreement with the theoretical results.
