Abstract
We report on the first fabrication of fiber Bragg gratings using UV femtosecond radiation. The Bragg gratings with a photoinduced refractive index modulation of up to 2×10−3 were recorded in standard H2-loaded SMF-28 and four different H2-free photosensitive fibers by high-intensity (31-86 GW/cm2) femtosecond pulses at 264 nm.
