Abstract
The Los Alamos free-electron laser (PEL) oscillator- experiment is being conducted to demonstrate high efficiency and good optical beam quality in a free-electron laser. The optical system design addresses the optical and mechanical designs of the resonator cavity and cavity alignment including remote control and closed loop cavity length control. Figure 1 shows the major components of the optical system and their location with respect to other key components of the FEL.
