Classification of Small-Spot Direct UV Written Fiber Bragg Gratings Through Extreme Thermal Treatment

Abstract

The high intensity and continuous nature of small-spot direct UV writing makes characterisation of gratings types difficult by conventional approaches. Investigating the thermal response of gratings up to 850 °C allows elucidation of grating type.
